Rancho La Patera & Stow House

Goleta Valley Historical Society invites you to experience this treasured landmark in the heart of the Lake Los Carneros Natural Preserve.  Experience the historic ranch by strolling through the restored gardens, take a guided tour of the beautifully furnished Stow House (1873) and enjoy hands-on exhibits in the History Education Center.  The Ranch is a popular site for community celebrations.  Visit on Saturdays and Sundays 1:00 - 4:00 pm and by appointment.  For more information contact 805-681-7216

Directions:
Take U.S. 101. Exit at Los Carneros Road.  Turn toward the mountains.  Continue approximately 1/2 mile.  The  parking lot is on the right. (Lot with the South Coast Railroad Museum and the County Fire Station.  Park in the lot and stroll up the drive to the Visitor Center, Stow House, the Ranchyard, and our beautiful gardens.  Rancho La Patera is located in the heart of the Lake Los Carneros Natural and Historical Preserve (City of Goleta).

Goleta Depot South Coast Railroad Museum

The South Coast Railroad Museum, in Goleta, Ca., focuses on the history, technology, and adventure of railroading. Special emphasis is placed on the railroad's contributions to local history, on the Southern Pacific Railroad, and on the key historical role of the railroad depot in rural community life across America.
The museum centerpiece is Goleta Depot, a country railroad stationhouse built by the Southern Pacific in 1901 during completion of the Coast Route joining San Francisco and Los Angeles. Goleta Depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
